A Republic of Equals: women and the Constitution, past and future

  • This event will be held on Zoom. (map)

Australia's Constitution was written by men for men. Although it was one of the first countries to give women the vote, Australia is still lagging in gender equity.

Professor Kim Rubenstein, constitutional lawyer and activist for gender equality, will lead us through the history of this involvement and the role of women in the Constitution, including her own role in constructing the Australian Choice Model. This is the model proposed by the ARM to make Australia a republic.

This is a Zoom meeting for women - ARM members and non-member republic supporters both welcome.
